Facebook Doing Sponsored Posts in your News Feed

Following Twitter’s lead, Facebook has begun adding sponsored ads to your feed (or “timeline”). Here is an example: This has all of the hallmarks of an internet marketing campaign: – pictures of girls – regional targeting of facebook users (all of those who “like” this page reside in Orange County) – blandish, “directory type” website being promoted – a decent site but one driven only by desire for ad revenue (I don’t think people will really connect with this site although there’s lots of good “lifestyle” content – skating, tattoos, etc.).
